Planned Parenthood is hailing the release of a new movie promoting abortion. ‘The Cider House Rules’ – a film based on John Irving’s 1985 novel about a doctor who runs an orphanage and performs abortions for the women who choose them – is opening in theatres across the country. Planned Parenthood affiliates will use the occasion of the film’s release to encourage dialogue to promote abortion. (Boston.com) 

The National Post reported Monday that Statistics Canada and university research papers on the “consequences of population ageing” warn of a tragic impact of divorce on baby boomers. As divorce takes over widowhood as the main reason for being alone in old age, studies show that children of divorced parents offer less support to their ageing parents and also less support to their children. 

Zenit News reported yesterday that television evangelist Billy Graham says that he thinks the man of the century might be Pope John Paul II. In an interview with the Associated Press Graham said, “I admire his courage, determination, intellectual abilities, and his understanding of Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox differences, and the attempt at some form of reconciliation.” (EWTN)
