Catholic World News reported that Hawaii’s Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that same-sex marriages are not legal in the state. The ruling was a significant pro-family victory because Hawaii is more liberal than most states over homosexuality and many pro-family people feared that the court would rule in the other direction.

The American Medical Association has been criticized by the New Jersey Consortium of State Physician Resource Councils for a report in which the AMA Council on Scientific Affairs called for free condom distribution in schools and attacked abstinence-centered sex education programs. (With files from Boston.com)
