A 1998 charge against Toronto nurse Gita Proudman who was accused of suffocating a severely disabled newborn was dropped last month. Media reports indicate that the charges were a gross misapplication of justice. Rather than trying to harm the child, the nurse appears to have been offering comfort to the dying infant. (Globe and Mail)

Homosexualist group PFLAG (Parents Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) are using deceptive advertising in Toronto to mislead people into believing that homosexuality is genetic. One ad at a subway station pictured a nude pregnant woman covering herself occupying the whole frame, and this caption, “You were never expecting a gay or lesbian child.” A telephone number was provided.

Nebraska’s Roman Catholic bishops said Thursday that the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s research with fetal tissue from elective abortions makes the center morally complicit with “an evil act.” “The benefits, no matter how desirable and significant they are, do not and cannot justify the means, which are intrinsically evil,” said the bishops. (Pro-Life E-News)    

“Choose Life” licence plates are back in production in Florida despite a lawsuit from the National Organization of Women who are complaining that the tags are pro-life. A decision last week to postpone the production was unauthorized since the legislature had passed the law. (Orlando Sentinel)
