Dear readers,
The past few days have been a whirlwind for me personally. Two young people who attend my local parish drowned over the weekend. Their stories are beautiful ones that need to be told so I attempted to highlight some aspects of their lives in today’s coverage.
Janine, one of the victims, had just asked me to come to speak to the newly formed pro-life group she started at her college. I met her after Mass Saturday morning just a few hours before the accident, to let her know I’d be more than happy to address her group.
Paul, as you’ll read was also very active in the pro-life movement. Campaign Life Coalition’s National Affairs Director Aidan Reid remembered him as a constant presence at the March for Life. Reid told me, “While we are all terribly sad at this tragedy, I can only imagine the welcome he will receive from the billions of souls for whom he wept in this life.”
They were shining examples of what it means to be pro-life in the truest sense of the words. May their memories inspire us all and future generations.
May their souls rest in peace!
