Dear Readers,

As John Connolly points out, and as many are likely feeling, the Republican nomination is fraught with concerns about the social conservative positions and history of the leading contenders.

The pragmatic social conservatives ask mostly, who is more likely to beat the Democrat nominee? Others say, it doesn’t matter if in the end the Republican candidate is not a lot better than Hillary or Obama on the life and family issues – the issues that matter most in the long run.

There may be a serious lack of trust by the pragmatists that the public could be moved to vote for a solidly pro-life, pro-family candidate. But then, polls tend to be quite accurate these days – although they were off base in their predictions on New Hampshire.

It looks like this is another situation calling for much prayer. Again, not only the future of the United States is at stake. The results of the US party nominations and the outcome of the presidential election will affect many nations in this era of rapid globalization.

For those who have never been to a Washington March for Life, we have been trying to convey as much of the experience as possible. Even then, we are giving only a limited reporting of the many events and talks that took place during that time.

Photographs can tell far more than words and so yesterday and today we published four different pages of photos of the March. Together with photos in other March related stories we have recently published a total of 112 March for Life event photos with more to come in other reports.

We hope you enjoy them. Perhaps they will inspire many more to get a group together, make inspired signs or banners and start plans to attend next year’s march or one that is planned near you or in your own country.
