Dear Friends, We send very few of these, but this is a time when LifeSiteNews.com needs special help. As you may recall, on March 24 our server was unable to handle the huge traffic generated by a link from the DrudgeReport.com website to one of our stories. About 126,000 people were able to access LifeSiteNews.com from that link but, for most of the few hours that DrudgeReport had the link on its site, LifeSiteNews.com was not accessible. We had to humbly and reluctantly ask that Drudge remove the link. That was done and LifeSiteNews.com became accessible again. The incident jarred us to the realization that the growing popularity of LifeSiteNews.com was conversely causing big challenges that finally must be dealt with. Another one of those challenges has been the emailing glitches over the past week which can be eliminated by substantial improvements to our computer system. Now here’s the catch. All our energy and talents are put into producing the content for LifeSiteNews.com and keeping the website going. Even then, we are frustrated by not being able to keep up with that, despite long days and all-out effort.
We are not gifted at fundraising and marketing. The passion of the LifeSiteNews.com team is for reporting truth, shining a light into the darkness and hopefully, in the process, causing positive change to happen. We ARE doing that very well, according to the overwhelming majority of readers who have shared this with us. But, someone has to pay for all this. That’s a hard, cold fact. As well, our resources are currently very limited. The necessary changes that we are now making, which will also allow many more people to benefit from reading LifeSiteNews, are going to cost much more than we originally expected. Total of all costs just for the changeover, plus additional new expenses being incurred by our rapid growth, are approaching the $50,000 + range.
Plus, there are the regular, on-going expenses for producing LifeSite and its many related features, for which we are also in great need of financial support. Please help us. LifeSiteNews.com is free but, for those of you who understand the value of this service and, are able to financially contribute towards our current needs, we ask you to consider making a generous donation. Your donation of $25, $100 $1,000, $5,000 or more (maybe much more), or less (anything is great!), will be deeply appreciated. This is a world-class service (we are told) that we hope you would see as a very productive use of your contribution. Your contribution will help LifeSiteNews.com to continue to positively influence developments on life, family and culture locally, nationally and internationally in the US, Canada, Europe and elsewhere.
