This year has without doubt been the most hectic year in terms of developments in the culture wars.  Other than the Bush victory which was likely the biggest newsmaker of the year, Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion of the Christ, ranked as one of the most talked about developments.

LifeSiteNews.com provided extensive coverage of the Bush election and gave its readers a preview review of The Passion of the Christ (https://www.theinterim.com/2004/feb/index.html) and even set up a separate page on LifeSiteNews.com to follow the developments around the epic film (https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/feb/040225a.html ).  One particularly ominous story was that of the Swedish Pastor sentenced to a month in prison for preaching against homosexuality. ( https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/jul/04070505.html )  As frightening as that may be, Canada is not far behind with the passage of the homosexual hate crime bill and the court imposed redefinition of marriage, not to mention the enactment of the Assisted Human Reproduction Act which enshrined more anti-life legislation than any bill since the 1969 bill allowing abortion in Canada.  Canada’s moral decline is so extensive that we have produced a page to catalogue the developments.  (See Canada’s Moral Plummet)  In stark contrast, the US this year has seen an historical boost in moral leadership, especially among its Catholic hierarchy.  An extensive archive of the year’s highlights in this regard is also presented. (See The Awesome Pro-Life Leadership of Many US Bishops)  Also noteworthy over the past year have been the numerous indicators of ‘The UN and its anti-life and anti-family agenda’ (see that archive here ‘President Bush and His Consistent Stand for Life’ and ‘The Pope’s Constant Reminders to Defend Life and Family’)  Jhw
