(LifeSiteNews) — The attorney for Lindsay Clancy — whose triple murder trial for the killing of her three young children ended in a mistrial last week — asked President Donald Trump to grant her a pardon while on national TV this morning.

Speaking with George Stephanopoulos on ABC Good Morning America, attorney Kevin Reddington directly addressed Donald Trump: “Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady, the type of person she is, what she’s been through, and consider a pardon.”

Reddington said he felt emboldened to make his request because he knew that Trump had been following the trial.

“Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse,” Trump said of Clancy after the mistrial announcement. “But you’ll find out what the price to pay is. There’ll be a price. It’s going to be mental institution or jail or something, but I guess they’re going to go through another trial. It’s too bad.”

The mistrial declaration stemmed from a lone male juror’s refusal to accept that there was reasonable doubt of Clancy’s guilt regarding the murder of her three young children.

On January 24, 2023, 32-year-old Lindsay Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, sent her husband Patrick to pick up takeout food and go to the pharmacy. She then strangled 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan with rubber exercise bands, slashed her own wrists and neck, and threw herself out of a second-story window. The two older children were declared dead that day. Callan died in the hospital three days later.
