AUGUSTA, Maine, Feb 8 (LSN)—Last spring homosexual activists managed to gain special privileges through adding “sexual orientation” to the list of prohibited grounds of “discrimination” in Maine's Human Rights Act. In other US states and across Canada, similar legislation has been used by the gay lobby to gain “marital” and “family” status—including the right to adopt children— and to silence moral opposition to their “lifestyle.”  Fortunately, a campaign to repeal the anti-family legislation has gained ground. Armed with 58,000 signatures on a petition, pro-family groups in Maine have succeeded in setting the stage for a “people’s veto” of the law, through a special referendum, to be held tomorrow.
