HAMILTON, June 9 (Lifesitenews.com) – Ronald Mark Wylie, arrested and charged in March for sending threatening messages aimed at abortionists, was sentenced yesterday to nearly two years in jail. Crown attorney Tony Leitch asked the judge for a six-month term in addition to time served, but Justice Morris Perozak sentenced Wylie to 18 months in addition to time served.  In handing down the sentence the judge said the threats of violence were “a planned,  deliberate, sober-minded, and prolonged terrifying assault.”

In a press release issued at the time of Wylie’s arrest, Campaign Life Coalition stated it “is pleased when campaigns of violence or threatened violence are brought to a close.” “During the investigation,” said the release, “the media, fed by pro-abortion activists,  have relentlessly tried to link the peaceful Canadian pro-life movement to activities which we have always condemned.”
