BOSTON, July 15, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts has postponed its decision on whether marriage licences should be granted to homosexual partners in the case of Goodridge v. Department of Public Health.  The court has an “administrative goal” of deciding cases within 130 days of hearing oral arguments, but misses that deadline several times a year. One commentator said, “If the cake isn’t baked, you don’t take it out.”  Homosexuals are inspired by Canada’s example. “Canada has set a tremendous example for the U.S., not just in legal impact but in cultural impact,” said Evan Wolfson, a homosexual activist with the group Freedom to Marry. “Americans now have the opportunity to look across the border and see that the sky didn’t fall when you have a gay couple who are married. It’s no longer just conservative rhetoric; people can see that society doesn’t fall apart,” he told the Globe and Mail.  For local coverage:  https://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/196/metro/SJC_puts_off_a_decision_on_gay_marriage+.shtml
