BOSTON, April 26, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In anticipation of Massachusetts May 17 date for the legalization of same-sex “marriage,” the Governor’s top legal counsel has told the state’s justices of the peace that, if they are unwilling to solemnize same-sex unions, they should resign.  Even though Republican Gov. Mitt Romney opposes the measure, Daniel Winslow told justices gathered in Boxboro, Mass., Romney’s office has mandated that the state’s justices prepare themselves to carry out the same-sex services.  “Gov. Romney understands and respects that people have very strong personal views both for or against same-gender marriage,” Winslow said. “But on this point, the law is clear.”
