TORONTO, April 13, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The March for Life in Ottawa, Canada’s annual pro-life march, will feature a demonstration by the group Silent no More. Those who attended the US March for Life in Washington in January, reported that the Silent no More demonstration attracted much attention. Women who have had abortions and been physically or emotionally scarred by post-abortion syndrome, stood carrying signs that read, “I regret my abortion.”

Silent No More Canadian spokesman, Angelina Steenstra, says the initiative hopes to inform the public that abortion is harmful emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually to women and others involved in it.

Steenstra said that the purpose of their appearance at the March for Life will be to reach out to the people who are hurting from an abortion, offer help, hope and healing. The group also invites those who regret their abortion to “join the Campaign in speak the truth about abortion’s negative consequences.”

Canada’s March is timed to coincide with the overturning of the abortion law in Canada, and attracts growing crowds each year. Particularly notable is the increasing percentage of younger Canadians who attend.
