Governor Jeb Bush had tried and failed to persuade the courts to name a separate guardian for the unborn baby. The child, known publicly only as “Baby Girl S,” was born by Caesarean section a few days ago. Circuit Judge Jose Rodriguez granted emergency temporary custody of the infant to Florida’s Department of Children & Families.
