ORLANDO, September 2. 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A mentally handicapped woman, 23, has safely given birth to a healthy baby girl, despite the efforts of feminists to have the baby aborted on grounds that she is the result of a rape. Governor Jeb Bush had tried and failed to persuade the courts to name a separate guardian for the unborn baby.  The child, known publicly only as “Baby Girl S,” was born by Caesarean section a few days ago. Circuit Judge Jose Rodriguez granted emergency temporary custody of the infant to Florida’s Department of Children & Families.  State officials and J.D.S.‘s legal guardian agreed that the newborn would be at risk if she were allowed to remain with her biological mother.  For news coverage:  https://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/nat-gen/2003/aug/31/083107807.html   For previous LifeSite coverage:  https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2003/jun/03060210.html
