1. Advertising Program Official Launch

Today we formally launch our advertising program with an ad report at https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/nov/07111403.html. We encourage any organizations or businesses to seriously consider this method of reaching a large social conservative audience with an Internet advertisement on LifeSiteNews.com.

Most of our readers would be surprised at the wide viewership of LifeSiteNews. Frequent analysis of page view statistics usually show that LifeSiteNews is at the top of the list of pro-life websites on the Internet.

There is a lot that can be said about the sophistication of our program that can target ads to a particular country, state or province and be arranged for a specific number of page view displays.

This already probably sounds far too technical to most of you. Internet advertising is still like going to the moon for many businesses and organizations. However, we can teach you about Internet advertising and how to most effectively place your message on the net.

Advertising on LifeSiteNews also allows those who want to support a major pro-life, pro-family initiative to write off a legitimate business expense while at the same time effectively promoting their product or service to a highly targeted market.

Why are we offering this and why have we spent a great deal of time developing such a program? Simple. It’s a way of generating much needed income to allow LifeSiteNews to continue to offer its unique, free and highly praised news and information service. It’s a win-win for us and for any advertisers.

2. Firefox Problem

It seems that the most recent Firefox update a few days ago is causing a serious glitch in the loading of our news stories. For those who use Firefox, you may find that when you click on a LifeSiteNews link the page frame loads quickly but the story item is either delayed or the page hangs. The story will load after a refresh instruction or two. Hopefully this Firefox problem will be corrected in the very near future.

3.  Some Email Subscribers Not Receiving LifeSiteNews

An increasing number of LifeSiteNews daily email subscribers are reporting that they are not receiving their daily emails. Many have asked if we have removed them from our subscriber list. No, we do not do that. In all cases, we have found that their subscription is still current and we are sending them the news. We often get messages back however explaining why many of them are not receiving their emails.

Here are the most common reasons:

1. Mailbox is full. You would not believe how much email is returned for this reason. Lots! So, if you really do want to receive the LifeSiteNews daily emails make sure your in box is not over capacity.

2. No such person or person not found. You changed your email address or forgot to unsubscribe and re-subscribe. Or, there has been a glitch with your ISP service and it incorrectly appears that you do not exist because the sending programs have no way of knowing otherwise. This often happens.

3. The return we get says “Your message was blocked by our Spam Firewall” or **Message you sent blocked by our bulk email filter**. Now that one really gets us upset. There are a number of reasons for this.

LifeSiteNews reports on many controversial subjects. Therefore our emails often contain a good number of key words that less than sophisticated anti-spam programs automatically categorize as spam (unsolicited commercial bulk emails – which we are NOT).

You need to contact your ISP and make sure they note that any emails sent from  LifeSiteNews <> are never categorized as spam.

Secondly, because of key words in our emails, ISPs also incorrectly categorize our emails as offensive material. Again, you must contact your ISP and explain that we only report on sometimes offensive subjects but our emails are themselves not offensive. Quite the contrary.

Lastly, there is a growing, worrisome trend where some ISPs or other Internet services appear to be censoring email from conservative organizations. Watch for more of that to happen in the months and years ahead. What have for centuries been considered sound moral standards are increasingly being categorized as forbidden hate speech to be suppressed.

In all these cases we need you to respond to your Internet Service Providers and insist that LifeSiteNews be delivered every day.
