AUSTIN, TX, July 9, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The matriarch of TLC's Duggar family denounced abortion in unmistakable terms last night outside the Texas capitol, calling the practice the “baby Holocaust.”

Michelle Duggar was joined by her husband, Jim Bob Duggar, and other members of the family that has endeared itself to the American public on TLC's popular reality television show 19 Kids and Counting. The family expressed their support for a bill that would limit abortions to the first 20 weeks of pregnancy and tighten health regulations at abortion facilities in the Lone Star State.

Also on the dais supporting the special legislative session called by Governor Rick Perry was the Duggars' oldest son, Josh Duggar, who was named executive director of FRC Action, the 501(c)4 affiliate of the Family Research Council, last month.

Another speaker at the massive rally cited another famous unborn child. Pastor Steve Washburn said at 24 weeks, John the Baptist recognized the voice of Jesus at the time of the Visitation. “We're here to take John the Baptist off the list” of children who could be aborted “at 24 weeks,” he said.

However, Washburn added that the pending bill would not “take Jesus' name off the abortion list” at the time of Mary's visit to her cousin Elizabeth. “He's too young,”

Mrs. Duggar, an outspoken champion of life and an opponent of contraception, said politicians like Wendy Davis, who successfully filibustered the first version of the bill late last month, had to be voted out of the legislature.

“If those who are voted into office do not support life, then they need to be replaced by those who do,” Michelle said, according to the San Antonio Express
