TORONTO, February 3, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Dr. Stephen Dawson, the Barrie Ontario family doctor who was in danger of losing his medical licence over his refusal to prescribe the birth control pill to unmarried women, has had charges of misconduct leveled against him dropped.  Dawson, a Christian, believed giving contraception to unmarried women encouraged promiscuity.  After threatening him with the possibility of removal of his licence for nearly a year, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario withdrew charges of professional misconduct against Dawson after reaching an agreement.  The Toronto Star reported that under the agreement Dawson must advise his patients of his views on the matter in advance.  See related LifeSite coverage:  CHRISTIAN DOC THREATENED WITH LOSS OF LICENCE OVER REFUSING PILL PRESCRIPTIONS   https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2002/feb/02022101.html
