JEFFERSON CITY, May 13, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Democratic Missouri Governor Bob Holden’s $19 billion budget, which passed the state legislature last week, includes a $3.6 million cut in so-called family planning services.  Pro-life legislators had been targeting the money for years because some of it goes to Planned Parenthood, which in turn uses the funds to subsidize abortion.  However, a pro-life program was also cut. A $700,000 “alternatives to abortion” program helped women to cope with unplanned pregnancies or find prenatal care.  For local coverage:  https://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/news/AAEA5C32101BAB7186256D22000C396E?OpenDocument&highlight=2%2Cbudget&headline=Missouri+Legislature+passes+budget+on+time,+but+Holden+aide+sees+$500+million+in+the+red
