BARABOO, WI, Jan 16, 2001 (LSN.ca) – A Wisconsin mother who gave her 13-year-old son condoms after finding out he was having sex with a 15-year-old girl has been charged with failing to protect her child from being sexually abused. After the son approached an officer about sexually transmitted diseases police questioned the mother to confirm her son’s allegation that she had purchased condoms for him. She told police she had bought him two dozen and had never told him to stop having sex, nor contacted police or social services to get help for him. When asked why she allowed her underage son to engage in sex she told police that he was too young to “understand that sex should come with love.”
