MONTREAL, Sept 14 (LSN) – The September edition of Campaign Life Coalition’s monthly newsletter exposes the story of seventy-six-year-old Herman Krauz who died on July 13, 15 hours after a Montreal hospital refused to maintain his respirator despite the urgings of family. George Krauz, the son of the deceased,  said his father did not want to go off the respirator.  The case is under investigation, and is the third incident in recent years in which families have attempted to stop the Montreal Jewish General Hospital from removing life support. The Montreal Jewish General Hospital defended its decision saying that Mr. Krauz was dying and that the hospital had to ration resources. Other hospitals in the city have a policy of not removing respirators until brain death.
