VANCOUVER, July 27 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Michelle Stewart, of British Columbia’s Ministry of Health, announced that legislation to create a bubble zone around an office building where an abortuary is to be housed is likely to be signed today, even though no abortions are currently taking place at the centre. The building on West Broadway, is to be the new home of the Elizabeth Bagshaw abortuary, which was forced to move after tenants in its former location complained. The NDP government is also contemplating imposing a similar no-protest zone around Kelowna General Hospital. The hospital has yet to provide abortions but the government has said that it might impose the no-protest zone before the baby-killing starts.

Ted Gerk of the Pro-Life Resource Centre stated: “The government is proving once and for all that their “bubble zones” are merely attempts to silence opposition to their abortion policies. The fact is that these facilities are not yet performing abortions. The Provincial statute is the ‘Access to Abortion Services Act’. Please tell me how protesting outside a facility that does not yet provide abortion is restricting access? What we have here is a blatant attempt by an intellectually bankrupt government to silence public opposition to abortion.”

In related news, tenants at the West Broadway office building who were not informed of the coming abortuary were infuriated that they were not made aware prior to the final agreement.
