OTTAWA, June 30, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Given the LifeSiteNews articles this week on Stephen Harper’s tight control of pro-life MPs and his determination to stop any abortion legislation, LifeSiteNews thought it appropriate to note for the record which Members of Parliament made themselves present for the May March for Life 2006 events.
The thousands of Canadians who make a great effort to attend this annual event largely do so to express their gratitude for the efforts of pro-life Members of Parliament and to encourage them to continue to act and to stand firm. It is therefore especially encouraging for the crowd to see as many of those MPs as possible on the Hill to receive them.
It should be noted that House commitments, illness andÂimportant family and other obligations prevent some MPs from attending the March events.ÂHowever, there areÂa good numberÂwhoÂmake a strong effort toÂgreet the marchers every year.
