(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s solo episode of The Van Maren Show, Jonathon discusses the recent protests against LGBT ideology by non-white Canadians, particularly Canadian Muslims, and explores whether these protests may be the start of a new trend where immigrants will ramp up their protesting of LGBT ideology in schools.

Noting that Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu immigrants in Canada tend to be very socially conservative, Jonathon says that he finds it “curious as to why they didn’t respond earlier.” He also points out that statistically, when the left attacks people protesting LGBT ideology as “bigoted” or “intolerant,” they attack socially conservative immigrants, though they believe they are attacking Christians.

According to Jonathon, while these immigrants came to Canada expecting a multicultural society in which they could pull their children out of activities with which they disagreed, the “state ideology” of LGBT “is being rammed down their throats” without the possibility of engaging in “quiet non-participation,” leading to the protests.

“If a lot of non-Christian religious groups are waking up to the fact that their kids are being indoctrinated, that might signal a watershed moment in this debate,” he says.

Jonathon also posits that the media’s reaction to the protests has only increased the number of protests, suggesting that the media’s attempt to ignore “the fact that the majority of these protesters are Muslim,” or insisting that opting one’s child out of a drag queen story hour is a “violation of human rights,” could cause the protests to “escalate” in number.

On the same note, he also opines that the Conservative Party of Canada has missed a “huge” opportunity to win votes from these immigrant communities by not campaigning on social issues. “The Conservative Party has done an abysmal job of reaching out to these communities,” Jonathon says.

“They reach out to them primarily on issues that they don’t care about. They’re totally unwilling to address the parental concern of Muslims communities right now. Conservative MPs should be contacting Muslim leaders and listening to them and saying, ‘What do you want your representatives in Ottawa to be doing about it?’ But if they are, they’re not saying anything publicly about it because all Pierre Poilievre wants to talk about is inflation.”

“We don’t know if these protests are going to continue,” Jonathon maintains. “They very well could. We’re almost at the end of June now, but of course, the fight is just starting. We’re at the end of the school year and that should ease tensions for a while. But what has happened, essentially, is that a lot of Muslim parents just … realized what is actually happening in their schools, what their kids are being required to participate in.”

It’s going to be very interesting to see if these communities will wake up in time to realize that their kids are being entirely reeducated and they’re being taught to reject a lot of tenets of the faith that their parents want to pass on to them, that their parents obviously want them to have,” Jonathon continues. “And this … could create some very interesting problems from progressive politicians, depending on whether these protests we’ve seen recently are just a blip or if they’re more sustained.”
