WASHINGTON, August 15, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The leadership of NARAL Pro-Choice America is still feeling the self-inflicted sting of its television ad. The abortion lobbyists director of communications, David E. Seldin announced his resignation the day after the group pulled a television ad that had even ardent abortion supporters angry at its inflammatory accusations against Supreme Court nominee John Roberts.

Seldin said, “I’ve been thinking for a while that I would most likely leave after the Supreme Court nomination fight was over.” He said his last day with NARAL was Friday.

The advertisement was considered inflammatory even by such rabid abortion pushers as Frances Kissling and the New York Times.

Arlen Specter, the Republican Senator and abortion supporter who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee called for the ad to be pulled. “When NARAL puts on such an advertisement, in my opinion it undercuts its credibility and injures the pro-choice cause.”
