OTTAWA, March 23, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In advance of the March for Marriage on Parliament Hill this April 9, a national day of prayer has been proposed for Sunday April 3.

Organizers are suggesting a married couple recite the proposed prayer after each worship service on Sunday April 3, followed by a minute’s silence in petition to God to deliver Canada from the moral disaster that is looming over the country.

The prayer reads:

We appeal therefore that every soul in this great nation cry to God;
  confessing our sins,
  asking for His forgiveness,
for how we have disregarded His goodness,
for how we have forgotten Him,
for how we have called evil, good,
for how we have called good, evil and,
for the sin of our Nation.
And, that He will graciously hear our earnest cry,
and look upon this poor country,
and lead us to re-consecrate ourselves to His Truth,
and to the sanctity of marriage for ourselves,
and for our children and their children,
So that his wondrous, blessed provision for man and woman,
instituted in paradise, confirmed by the Lord Jesus Himself,
its sanctity, the providential bond of all moral order in the world
Be upheld by the laws of the Parliament of Canada
To be the union of one man and one woman
To the exclusion of all others.
May God hear our prayer and may HIS RIGHTS be maintained in Canada for
His glory and for the blessing of His people, and for all humanity.
  Amen.
