OMAHA, Dec 2 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Omaha World-Herald newspaper reported Sunday that the University of Nebraska Medical Center has been conducting research on Alzheimer’s disease by using brain cells from aborted babies. Politicians expressed shock at the news and are considering action.

According to the paper, the Medical Center receives more than $1 million a year for the research from the National Institutes of Health.

The aborted baby brains are courtesy of abortionist LeRoy H. Carhart, who operates the Bellevue-based Abortion & Contraception Clinic of Nebraska.

On Monday the speaker of the Legislature, Doug Kristensen of Minden, said university funding may be cut if the Medical Centre refuses to stop using baby body parts in its research. Gov. Mike Johanns told the press that he would send a letter to University of Nebraska officials asking them to stop the practice.
