THE HAGUE, Netherlands, Aug 7, 2001 (LSN.ca) – On July 17, the Netherlands accepted the Rome statute of the International Criminal Court, making it the 37th country to ratify the agreement. The ICC will assume universal jurisdiction, even over countries that have refused to sign on to it, once 60 countries have ratified the agreement. The Netherlands has also indicated that with or without U.S. support the ICC will go ahead. The outstanding 23 ratifications are expected to come within a year.

The location of the court’s headquarters in The Hague has been selected and architects and contractors have been hired to build the new courthouse. ABC news reports that the site selected is the old Willem Alexander cavalry barracks, close to the prison where former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic and other suspected war criminals from the Balkans wars are imprisoned.

Pro-lifers have warned that the ICC is a dangerous tool in the hands of United Nations feminists, population controllers and one-worlders. Gwen Landolt of REAL Women Canada told LifeSite “The ICC is the instrument to promote a one world government and to implement one world government with an emphasis on abortion and feminism.”
