AUSTRALIA, May 22, 1998 (LSN) – Previously reported changes to West Australian abortion laws   repeal criminal sanctions for women obtaining abortions and require informed consent before   abortionists can legally perform an abortion. The “stinker”, according to abortion providers, is that the law still allows for criminal sanctions against abortionists who do not properly follow the informed   consent provision which was included by pro-life MPs.  Pro-lifers are offering support to women who wish to take legal action for wrongful abortion under the   new law.
