SAN FRANCISCO, Apr 29 (LSN) – Authors Cornel West and Sylvia Ann Hewlett have written a new book which hit bookstores two weeks ago arguing powerfully that society has undermined parenting. In “The War Against Parents: What We Can Do for America’s Beleaguered Moms and Dads” (Houghton Mifflin), the authors present solid arguments showing how modern culture has manufactured the downfall of stable family life with anti-family salaries, taxation, media and pop psychology.  The book, reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle, demonstrates the devastating effects of the war against the family with truly alarming statistics. The authors conclude with a Parents’ Bill of Rights,  and urge the formation of a parents’ movement on a par with the women’s movement and civil rights movement.  (source: San Francisco Chronicle via Pro-Life E-news Canada)
