August 30, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — LifeSiteNews’ magazine Faithful Insight has just completed its first year of publication with 10 full issues containing fearless Catholic news focused particularly on Vatican developments. In addition to the hard-hitting reports you’re used to at LifeSite, the magazine features a news bites section summarizing crucial developments from around the world so that readers can stay abreast of important stories.

“The new design is bright and spacious,” said John-Henry Westen, Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of LifeSiteNews. “It has the feel of a modern magazine and with its attention to beautiful photos and intriguing content, it’ll be a magazine you’ll be proud to feature on your coffee table. It’s easy to read, and hard to put down. With the high value we place on truth and beauty, we hope it will inspire, encourage, inform, and evangelize.”

Comments from readers give testimony to the value of the full-glossy production gathering the best of LifeSite’s Catholic coverage all in one place and in an attractive package.

Here are some examples of comments that have come in:

  • At last we have a Catholic magazine that does not withhold the uncomfortable facts, but expresses them with clarity and perfect charity.
  • I read with great interest your current issue … Thank you for Faithful Insight. It is sorely needed in our time.
  • Faithful Insight showed bravery in the middle of our Roman Catholic, politically correct chosen path of today.
  • You and your staff and contributors [deserve] all the credit possible for bravely seeking to enlighten everyone. With the passing of Mother Angelica (Eternal Word Television Network) there are few brave souls available to carry the cross of true leadership.
  • Congratulations for your magnificent and much needed magazine Faithful Insight.
  • Keep up the excellent work. You have the courage to proclaim the truth.
  • We have been reading “Faithful Insight” with great interest from the very first issue, and want to say a big thank you for telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
  • At last we can get the full picture of the crises in the Church and society. You give us the truth. If we have to fight the “enemy” we have to know him and his tactics!

Faithful Insight fills a gap in Catholic media because “we have the freedom to report the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” said Westen. “We have the experience of 20 years of reporting on the Vatican and Church affairs with all the insight and connections that come with hard work and perseverance. We have a positive attitude despite all the grim developments because we know that Christ and His Church will triumph in the end.”

The troubling events in the Vatican over the past year have allowed Faithful Insight magazine to serve as a historic marker of the most turbulent time in Church history.

The cover of Faithful Insight's September issue

“This past year has seen an intentional turning away from truth,” said Westen. “With the mixture of the natural love and respect for the Pope and his ambiguous statements we’ve seen great confusion. Many leaders in the Church are being unfaithful to Her traditional teachings which is not new, but what is new is that we have seen some Catholic news agencies decide to forgo traditional beliefs and truths, to report evil as good and good as evil.”

“We’ve seen praise for bishops who suggest giving Holy Communion to homosexual couples and ridicule of bishops who suggest we kneel for Holy Communion,” continued Westen. “It seems there are two very different churches, both of them claiming the name Catholic. While the de facto schism is palpable it is not yet de jure, but that day is fast approaching.”

The magazine is a catalogue of Vatican intrigue and the efforts of faithful Catholics to bring the barque of Peter back to its safe harbor between the pillars of the Eucharistic Lord and His Holy Mother.

The magazine is at a pivotal stage of development right now. It needs to be made better known so that we can spread the truth in love during such a dark time. LifeSite is appealing to its readership to spread the news of the availability of Faithful Insight and encourage friends and family to subscribe.
