GENEVA, May 21, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An organization made up of an elite list of female former and current heads of state, the Council of Women World Leaders, (CWWL), has held a meeting to organize a sub-group consisting of female government health ministers to address what they see as problems of “gender inequality” in health care. Minister Hyssälä of Finland said, “solutions to such health problems will have to include the empowerment of women through education and a guarantee of their human and reproductive rights.” The organization has strong ties to anti-family abortion and sterilization promoters at the United Nations, such as, World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, the World Bank, UNICEF, and the United Nations Development Programme.

The new Network of Women Health Ministers will focus upon the role of health ministers and several issues including the need for “improved reproductive health care and HIV prevention services, especially for adolescent girls, and the health implications of all forms of violence against women.” Pro-life lobbyists who regularly attend meetings at the UN, warn that this kind of language is a minefield of euphemisms. “Reproductive health care and HIV prevention” are code words for abortion and condom distribution.

Babette Francis, the president and National & Overseas Coordinator of the Endeavour Forum, Australia’s leading pro-life, pro-family lobby, exposed the strange world of “gender feminism” in international politics. She told LifeSiteNews.com in an exclusive interview that the simple distinction between men and women has become passé in high-level internationalist circles such as the CWWL.

It is sometimes difficult to understand the real impact these kinds of organizations have on individuals and the laws of states. In the LifeSiteNews.com interview Francis assured that the influence is very real and gave an example. She said, “In the recent case, in the US, Lawrence vs. Texas, (the case that struck down Texas’ anti-sodomy law) they took into account that Mary Robinson of the UN had said that sexual orientation should be recognized as a human right.” Robinson, a prominent UN abortion and anti-family leader is included in the CWWL’s membership list, along with Canada’s former Prime Minister, Kim Campbell.  Document reveals the why of attacks against life and family over past decades https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/may/040518a.html
