SEOUL, KOREA, May 27, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Fides news service reported yesterday that the Korean Catholic Bishops’ Conference is having great success promoting LIFE 31, a new pro-life movement it launched earlier this year.  In a statement issued May 25 on behalf of the movement, moderator Bishop Peter Lee Ki-heon stated, “the human being is to be respected and treated as a person from the moment of conception” and “Not only those who are born but also the fertilised egg, the embryo and foetus are human beings,”  Fides reports that the aim of the nation-wide pro-life campaign is to “promote a culture of life” it hopes to develop an international pro-life campaign with other religions and especially with Korean and International NGOs working to promote respect for life.
