MONTREAL, Sept 15 (LSN)  Yesterday, Michael Hendricks, a well-known gay rights activist in Montreal, and his homosexual partner Rene Leboeuf, filed a complaint with the Quebec human rights commission about the discrimination in law they claim prevents them from being married. The Canadian Press noted that the action was staged to coincide with the 21st anniversary of Quebec’s charter of rights which currently forbids discrimination based on “sexual orientation.”  In September, the pair began proceedings to challenge the Quebec Superior Court in an attempt to gain the right to marry. A trial date is expected in late January.
