NEW REPORT CATALOGUES 26 YEARS OF PLANNED PARENTHOOD ABUSES

WASHINGTON, May 21, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – STOPP International, a project of American Life League that is dedicated to stopping Planned Parenthood and its anti-life activities, has just released its annual Ryan Report Special Edition 2003.  “This special annual report-which uses information from Planned Parenthood’s own annual reports along with exclusive research that has been conducted by STOPP International-exposes Planned Parenthood’s gross abuse of women and pre-born children through its taxpayer funded activities,” said Jim Sedlak, founder and executive director of STOPP International.  “Since 1977, Planned Parenthood has brought in almost $1 billion in income from abortion, while receiving almost $2.5 billion in government money (since 1987).”  STOPP has found that since 1977, Planned Parenthood has performed 3,019,559 abortions while bringing in an estimated $894 million in income from those abortions.  In 2001, Planned Parenthood (PPFA) performed 16.4% of all abortions in the United States, which accounted for nearly one-third of PPFA’s clinic income.  “Planned Parenthood continues its eugenics-based attack on life through the widespread use of contraception and abortion,” stated Ed Szymkowiak, STOPP’s national director. “Its own financial data shows an organization that clearly operates on the back of the American taxpayer.  It is time the American public is given the truth about Planned Parenthood’s operation.”“It is a disgrace that the American taxpayer is forced to fund an organization that has nothing to do with mainstream American values,” continued Sedlak. “Our special edition shows that there is declining support from the American people.  It is time for the government to defund Planned Parenthood immediately.”  A copy of the Ryan Report Special Edition 2003 can be found at   www.all.org/stopp/rr0304.htm
