Is Gonzaga still a Jesuit, Catholic university? by Dr. Eric Cunningham
I can’t help but think that the secular administrator and the Catholic administrator would both find it prudent to avoid any mention of “souls” and “salvation” in their mission statements. Phrases like “excellence,” “global citizenship,” “civic responsibility,” and “social justice,” work much better, being lofty enough to inspire, yet vague enough not to ruffle the feathers of potential customers who may not care one way or another if salvation is included in the costs of tuition.

The whole justice “thing” often strikes me as an elaborate rhetorical strategy calculated to make sure the “good and smart” people who favor “justice” and “diversity” can win every argument against the bad and stupid people who just want to oppress, discriminate, and stifle free speech—without ever having to prove a point. It’s a strategy that does much to suppress dialogue because anyone who takes issue with the “socially just” position is assumed to be morally or mentally deficient.

Geraldine Ferraro may be denied a Catholic funeral? – Examiner

Army: court-martial Chaplains for “religious, conscience” objection to homosexuality – Catholic Citizens
The U.S. Army has officially threatened military chaplains they must either embrace the new openly homosexual military, resign from service, or face court-martial for their “religious, conscience” objections. The Pray In Jesus Name Project has obtained leaked copies (unintended for media disclosure) of a private briefing given to chaplains, threatening them with court-martial unless they compromise their Christian message. Christian Chaplains who speak out against homosexual sin can be accused of “harassment” by homosexuals and face disciplinary action simply for voicing their religious views outside the “context” of their religious ministry.

LGBT-funded poll falsely claims most Catholics support same-sex marriage
by Thomas Peters
PRRI provides polling to help gay-rights groups figure out how to better push their agenda among various faith communities. The first important thing to realize about the results is that the less Catholics care about their faith, the more likely they are to support same-sex marriage. Who is driving the numbers behind the headline: “Catholic support same-sex marriage”? Catholics who are almost never in the pews. The next thing to realize is that the majority of Catholics don’t actually support same-sex marriage. What a majority of Catholics may support is civil unions for gays and lesbians. 26% of Mass-attending Catholics supporting same-sex marriage is too high.
