The Connection Between Muslim Inbreeding and Terrorism
The Danish psychologist Nicolai Sennels returns with a new essay about the effects of Muslim inbreeding. First cousin marriages have been the tradition in many Muslim families for innumerable generations. Such marriages increase the risk of negative mental and physical consequences.
My article “Muslim inbreeding: Impacts on intelligence, sanity, health and society” details extensive research data on the subject. The risk of serious illnesses or handicaps increases by up to 1800 percent (BMJ, 1994 “Infant death and consanguineous marriage”). Risk of mental retardation increases with 400 percent (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, 1978 “Effect of inbreeding on IQ and mental retardation”).
Research published in The Journal of Aggression and Violent Behaviour has proven a connection between suicide bombers and depression and physical handicaps (BT, December 15th 2010 “Why most terrorists are useless”). Research suggests that many suicide bombers are suffering from depression, and their actions are just a socially accepted (among Muslims) way of committing suicide in order to end their mental torment.

Ariel Merari, a Tel Aviv University psychologist who has specialized in the study of terrorism for 40 years, believes most suicide bombers are introverted, inhibited loners who lack self-confidence, have trouble making decisions and rely heavily on the opinions of others. They are anxious to please. Usually they don’t belong to a terrorist organization till they are recruited for suicide.
Merari describes the conclusions in Driven to Death: Psychological and Social Aspects of Suicide Terrorism (Oxford), published this month. The most striking discovery of Merari’s team is that half of the would-be suicides were depressed and defeated young men who might well have committed suicide even if they had not been offered a mission. The recruiters, who are also the trainers, frankly admitted that they would never be so crazy as to commit a suicide-murder themselves.
As with most suicide bombings today, both the killers and the victims are Muslim. The most remarkable fact is that this crime is a relatively recent historic development. As Merari’s book reminds us, suicide bombing was unknown in Islamic societies until the 1980s.

In the past few years, enrollment of Muslim students has spiked at Catholic campuses across the country. Last year, Catholic colleges had an even higher percentage of Muslim students than the average four-year institution in the United States. The influx has astonished and sometimes befuddled administrators.
Some Catholic campuses are creating prayer rooms for new Muslim students and hiring Islamic chaplains to minister to them. Others are unsure how to adapt. One of the sharpest increases in Muslims students has been at Catholic University in Northeast Washington. Echoing Islam’s conservative culture, the school separates men and women in its dorms and imposes visiting hours. The university prohibits sex before marriage. Daily prayer and periodic fasting are common concepts.

Canadian newspapers report that more than 100 Arab-Canadian Christians have been put on a list published by website close to Al Qaeda, apparently charged with encouraging conversions from Islam. The website Shumukh-al-Islam, often seen as an Al Qaeda propaganda tool, has created a list with photos, addresses and phone numbers of Coptic Christians, most with dual Egyptian and Canadian nationality, who spoke openly against Islam.
