San Francisco’s Pier 39: A different Sort of Pro-Life Picket – Jill Stanek
Those who traffic this blog regularly know I support pro-life protests that educate the public about abortion by displaying graphic images of aborted babies. Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust also believes in this approach, but on October 30 at San Francisco’s Pier 39 the group took a different tack. For 4 hours – in the rain – 20 of our youthful activists displayed huge, beautiful posters of miraculous preborn development and distributed so much literature they ran out… an uplifting change of pace.

Younger generation increasingly pro-life
Polling data, record crowds at the 2009 and 2010 March for Life in Washington, and a steep increase in the number of student pro-life groups over the past four years provide evidence that those born between the late 1970s and late 1990s are more pro-life than the baby boomer generation.

Sarah Palin gave a very moving, personal, prolife speech in Kansas City last night. It was one of the best I've heard and I've heard plenty. Palin remained focused on the anti-abortion cause. She challenged audience members to help change American culture to one more focused on the sanctity of life. That means encouraging adoption and foster families. Sitting on the sidelines, Palin said, no longer is acceptable. Palin added, “We should be our brother and sister's keeper – not government.

A Nation Turns Away From Abortion
It's not true that abortion statistics are irreversible. Italy proves it. Abortion numbers and rates there have continued on a downward trend for over two decades. Abortion, which was legalized in Italy in 1978, reached a peak of 234,801 cases in 1982. In 2009, 116,933 abortions were performed, a decline of 3.6 percent from the previous year – a figure that for the first time was less than half the number in the peak year. The numbers have declined consistently for the last five years.
