EDMONTON, Feb 16 (Lifesitenews.com) Alberta Premier Ralph Klein said Saturday that if it became necessary, he would poll Albertans on whether or not they would want him to use the notwithstanding clause against federal legislation changing the definition of “spouse.” The comments were made on a radio call-in show in response to questioning by Brian Rushfeld of the Canadian Family Action Coalition. Pro-family observers are cautious in their optimism about the report recalling Premier Klein’s failure to enact the notwithstanding clause in relation to the Vriend ruling.
