Editor’s note: LifeSiteNews has in the past published news notes, a key list of pro-life and pro-family stories that we simply don’t have the time to report on ourselves. Below are news notes for October 21, 2019.

October 21, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Catholics in North America woke up to the news that at least two men had thrown in the Tiber River the pagan “Pachamama” idols that have been a motif of the Amazon Synod. Later in the day, though, exuberance over the Pachamamas’ destruction turned to shock and anger that a jury ruled against a father who opposes his seven-year-old’s gender “transition,” which is being orchestrated by his ex-wife, who, the trial revealed, is not actually the boy’s biological mother. The boy and his twin were conceived via in-vitro fertilization using an egg donor.

Other notable stories LifeSite was unable to cover today, but which deserve attention nonetheless, include:

  • An opinion piece in the New York Times written by a mother who had a late-term abortion declares: “I am a baby killer…My husband and I chose to end our child’s life. Many imagine this as an impossible decision to make, one that would take hours of deliberation. I will be honest with you. You may not want to hear this, but the decision was obvious to us. Our child would not be given a life of pain and suffering. Instead, we would take her pain on as our own. I regret that we had to make the choice. I regret that she was so sick, so broken. But I do not regret the decision we made. Within 15 minutes of the diagnosis, we knew what we had to do: We would become baby killers.”

Despite this blunt admission, the author insists, “My child was lovingly cared for until her last heartbeat. She was gently laid to rest after her footprints were stamped in black ink on a rectangle of paper. Those same footprints hang on my bedroom wall along with a locket containing her ashes.”

  • A woman has been arrested in connection with the bodies of three unborn babies that were found being mailed through San Francisco International Airport in 2018. Ironically, right now in San Francisco, the pro-life activists from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) who exposed Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in baby body parts are being sued by the abortion lobby, which accuses them of wiretapping, conspiracy, trespassing, breach of contract, and violating the Racketeer-Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act with their undercover exposé. CMP journalists are also being prosecuted by the state of California while those they secretly videotaped haggling over fetal body parts prices walk free.
  • Pro-gay activist Jesuit Father James Martin spoke once again at Holy Trinity in Georgetown, one of Washington, D.C.’s most liberal parishes and met with the church’s “newly formed LGBT outreach” group. He spoke at the parish, which is run by the Jesuit order, in 2017. In September 2019, this same parish released a video promoting a “married” same-sex couple whose adopted son attends their school.
  • A gay man has been banned from Twitter after shattering prevalent pro-transgender myths.
