WASHINGTON, D.C., August 3, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Barack Obama has doubled down on his promise to stand up for abortion-on-demand this campaign season, telling a convention of female bloggers “I’m not going to give any ground” on “vital services like Planned Parenthood.”

The president spoke to the 2012 BlogHer conference on Thursday by video link.

“I’m not going to give any ground to those who would deny women their own health care choices,” he said. He promised to fight “folks who plan to turn back the clock. They promise to take away access to health care and contraception. They talk about getting rid of vital services like Planned Parenthood.”

He added, thanks to the HHS mandate that went into effect on August 1, women “are beginning to gain access to contraception at no additional cost.”

At another point in the speech he said, “I happily accept the term” ObamaCare.

The conference scheduled a speech from Buffy Wicks, the national director of Operation Vote for the Obama campaign. Wicks took part in a “cultural policy summit” in 2010 that asked far-Left radicals to promote the Obama administration’s agenda with their networks.  She would later participate in a conference call presenting “specific asks” to National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grant recipients. “We’re actually running the government,” she said. “We need your guys’ help to promote this.”

The meeting was also set to hear from Christy Turlington Burns, who encouraged women to ignore their children this year on Mother’s Day to support abortion worldwide

Courtney Johnson, the director of women’s outreach for the Romney campaign, will also speak.

Rachel Maddow’s website suggested Thursday’s remarks prove Obama hopes to campaign on social issues such as abortion and the HHS mandate, and he is “likely to stay on the offensive through the fall.”
