PETITION: Tell Hallmark No LGBT Christmas movies!  Sign the petition here.

December 12, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-family organization One Million Moms has joined the chorus of Americans urging the Hallmark Channel not to trade its traditional values for LGBT “representation,” as with the channel’s recent airing of a commercial featuring a lesbian “wedding.”

For years, the Hallmark Channel’s made-for-TV movies have been a source of wholesome comfort entertainment in contrast to Hollywood’s increasingly “woke” output, but that may be changing in the near future. Bill Abbott, CEO of Hallmark parent company Crown Media Family Networks, recently said the company is open to adding same-sex relationships to its films in the name of “broadening out the demographic.”

Hallmark also recently ran a commercial for the wedding planning service Zola, featuring a same-sex “wedding” that ends with two women kissing.

“Until recently, Hallmark had a good record for keeping their movies and commercials family friendly,” One Million Moms wrote in its petition. “Now, parents can no longer trust Hallmark because Hallmark is no longer allowing parents to be the primary educators when it comes to sex and sexual morality. Parents need to know they could now come face to face with the LGBT agenda when they sit down to watch the Hallmark Channel.”

“One Million Moms is asking Hallmark to stay true to its family-friendly roots that so many families have grown to love, and to keep sex and sexual content – including the promotion of homosexuality – out of its programming,” declared the petition, which has collected more than 21,000 signatures so far.

LifeSiteNews also has a petition urging the Hallmark Channel to maintain its traditional values instead of caving to the LGBT lobby, which so far has collected more than 41,000 signatures.

For the moment, Hallmark films continue to reinforce positive values, such as the new film A Christmas Love Story taking inspiration from star Kristin Chenoweth’s real-life gratitude for being adopted. At the same time, some of the stars in those films are already onboard with aspects of the left-wing agenda, from actress Autumn Reeser donating to Planned Parenthood to Chenoweth herself declaring “it's one of my purposes of this life” to be an “LGBTQ activist.”
