TORONTO, July 19, 2002 (LSN.ca) – A Toronto city clerk, Ms. Ulli Watkiss, braved homosexual wrath and media frenzy yesterday by denying two homosexual men a marriage licence at City Hall. Watkiss said she does not have the authority to grant such a licence unless federal and provincial laws are changed in reponse to last week’s Ontario Divisional Court ruling.  “I can’t do anything other than not issue a marriage licence at this time,” Ms. Watkiss told the duo. “Under the current legislative framework, within the country and within the province, I do not have the right to give you the licence that you seek at this time. The court has asked you to be patient.”  Watkiss’s humble adherence to the democratically-framed marriage laws—in the face of homosexuals who prefer to impose their agenda on society through unelected courts—postponed the hopes of Ontario Crown Attorney, Michael Leshner, 54, and Michael Stark, 44, who expected the judicial decision to be sufficient to clear the way for gay civil marriage.  To read coverage on see:  https://www.nationalpost.com/national/story.html?id={E11978D6-D157-489D-86BA-20EF6D641129}
