(LifeSiteNews) – Independent Ontario MPP Rick Nicholls said people should not be “penalized for their choice” to refuse the COVID jabs, while having to announce he was forced to step down as Deputy Speaker of the Ontario Legislature.

“The government attempted to force me into getting the vaccine or be removed from caucus. Sticking to my values and my principles, I refused to get the vaccine,” Nicholls said at a press conference on Tuesday at Queen’s Park.

“As a result … I am announcing that I am stepping down as the deputy speaker and chair of the committee of the whole house.”

On Tuesday, Ontario’s provincial government under Premier Doug Ford passed a motion to boot Nicholls from his role as Deputy Speaker, a position he has held since 2018.

Nicholls, who represents the riding Chatham-Kent-Leamington, said Tuesday that he is not an anti-vaxxer, but “People should not be penalized for their choice to either get vaccinated or to not be vaccinated.”

“I stand strong in my personal choice not to be vaccinated, which ultimately led to [my] decision to step down. I oppose mandatory vaccines. I believe in personal choice when it comes to having a foreign substance injected and that an individual should not be punished for CHOICE,” Nicholls said in a statement sent to media.

Nicholls said he receive notification that he was being removed as Deputy Speaker not from Ford but through media reports.

“I want to thank the media for letting me know that the government has actually already selected a replacement for me. Yes, that’s correct. The government didn’t let me know,” Nicholls said.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker was appointed as Nicholls’ replacement as Deputy Speaker.

Nicholls has been an MPP since 2011 but was booted from Ford’s ruling Progressive Conservative Party in August for choosing not to get the COVID jabs.

In August, Ford mandated that all MPPS must have the COVID jabs. At the time, Nicholls said he voiced his “concerns about our policy privately to the premier and to the Ontario PC caucus.”

“But under no circumstances will I nor should any Ontarian be forced or coerced to do something against their will. To do so is an affront to the democratic principles of this magnificent institution,” Nicholls said.

At the provincial level, all hospitals and schools have been encouraged to come up with strict jab policies that require COVID testing for those who are not injected, even though some doctors have said natural immunity is best.

Dr. Peter McCullough, M.D, an eminent internist and cardiologist from the United States,  recently affirmed that against COVID-19 “(for) people under 50 who fundamentally have no health risks, there’s no scientific rationale for them to ever become vaccinated.”

He also said that those who develop COVID have “complete and durable immunity. And (that’s) a very important principle: complete and durable. You can’t beat natural immunity.”

It is now known that people who have taken the experimental COVID-19 jabs can still contract and spread the disease. COVID vaccine trials have never produced evidence that vaccines stop infection or transmission. They do not even claim to reduce hospitalization, but the measurement of success is in preventing severe symptoms of COVID-19.

Even worse, unvaccinated persons have more to fear from the vaccinated than vice-versa. Dr. McCullough reported in August on a preprint study that “found vaccinated individuals carry 251 times the load of COVID-19 viruses in their nostrils compared to the unvaccinated.”

“While moderating the symptoms of infection, the jab allows vaccinated individuals to carry unusually high viral loads without becoming ill at first, potentially transforming them into presymptomatic super spreaders,” wrote McCullough, the editor of two major medical journals.

Nicholls on Tuesday blasted vaccine passports, saying they “are a way of those vaccinated telling people they don’t even know what their vaccination medical record is.”

“People must have freedom of choice and of course freedom of speech without fear of recourse.”

Ford introduced vaccine passports in Ontario in September, despite the fact he had promised earlier he did not want to create a “split society.”

Recently, 172 employees from Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) and Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) were suspended without pay for refusing to get the experimental COVID injections.

The COVID-19 injections approved for emergency use in Canada, including the Pfizer jab for ages 12 and up, all have connections to cells derived from aborted babies.

All four have also been associated with severe side effects such as blood clots, rashes, miscarriages, and even heart attacks in young, healthy men.
