TORONTO, September 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Ontario Premier Ernie Eves announced today that Ontarians will go to the polls in only 30 days on Oct. 2 to elect the next provincial government.

The race will likely be tight although many pundits suggest that the opposition Liberals are currently well ahead of the pack.  For pro-life, pro-family voters, there is little to choose from between flip-flop Ernie Eves, the Tory leader, the Liberal’s anti-Catholic, Catholic Dalton McGuinty and the third social liberal leader, the NDP’s Howard Hampton. The alternative Family Coalition Party is the only one with genuine pro-family, life-affirming policies and a leader committed to those policies.  One currently hot item that is certain to be an election issue and which all candidates will do their best to avoid is the gay unions and marriage issue. Candidates are guaranteed to insist that it is a federal matter or that the government is obliged to obey the courts. Many voters are unlikely to fall for the deception this election because of the current volume of information on the issue.

For pro-family voters, the Tories have no excuse for refusing to appeal the activist court decision mandating the government to immediately permit homosexual “marriages”. In addition, the Tories and the opposition parties are all opposed to the use of the constitutionally allowed notwithstanding clause to override the decision of the unaccountable court. Lastly, all three parties have colluded for years in undermining marriage and family life and providing extraordinary special protection and funding for homosexual activist organizations.  Much more will follow from LifeSite in the coming days, including candidate evaluations.
