June 13, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – On Friday all four tires of the car of two young married interns with the pro-life organization Operation Rescue were slashed.

In a note to supporters, Operation Rescue President Troy Newman pointed out that the car, which had a pro-life bumper sticker on it, was the only car in the whole parking lot that was vandalized.

“We believe they were targeted for this attack because of their pro-life convictions,” said Newman.

Newman pointed out that this is the third incidence of vandalism that the organization has experienced in less than a month. In May, a banner outside of the pro-life organization’s headquarters, which directs pregnant women in crisis to a nearby crisis pregnancy center, was spraypainted and had to be replaced. After that, one of the security cameras at their offices was stolen.

The pro-life organization is fundraising to cover the costs of the towing and the new tires that the interns, Josh and Eliasabeth, required.

“Josh and Elisabeth are young married college students who are sacrificially spending their summer break from classes at the University of Colorado to work in our office on several critical projects,” observed Newman. “They live on next to nothing in order to do pro-life work.”

“These vandals are trying to sap resources from our life-saving efforts and demoralize our staff,” he concluded, adding, “With your support and prayers, we will not let the bullies win!”
