OTTAWA, January 31, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Despite financial mismanagement and cost overruns that have been compared to the discredited Registry of All Firearms, the federal government has been funneling money into the politically-charged Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) without the approval of Parliament.  Several Liberal and opposition MPs in the Public Accounts Committee, examining the breach of spending rules, went as far as to question the body’s continued relevance.  “The [CHRC] is broken,” said John Bryden, a Liberal backbencher and author of books on government waste. “It needs to be fixed and the government is reluctant to take action. … I think Parliament has to really consider whether it wants to continue with the commission. We need a case for it now because the world has changed and it’s not the same climate as it was socially when the Canadian Human Rights Act was passed,” he said, 25 years ago.  More than a few notable Canadians have called for abolishment of Canadian Human Rights Commissions because of their history of strong ideological bias and exploitation by social radicals to bypass the democratic process.  For National Post coverage type “human rights commission” into the search function at www.nationalpost.com   For previous coverage of the Commission’s bias and waste:  CANADIAN HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION SLAMMED BY AUDITOR GENERAL https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/1998/sep/98093001.html CHRC ANNUAL REPORT SHOWS EXTREME PRO-GAY BIAS https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/1999/mar/99032401.html KANGAROO HUMAN RIGHTS COURTS IN LIMBO AFTER BIAS CHALLENGE https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2000/nov/00111003.html
