(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s episode of The Van Maren Show, Jonathon chats with anti-porn activist and author Kristen Jenson about how parents can “porn-proof” their kids and why she rebranded her organization from “Protect Young Minds” to “Defend Young Minds.”

Jenson has written a book for parents and children ages 6-11 titled Good Pictures Bad Pictures: Porn-Proofing Today’s Young Kids, and then followed it up with a version for parents and children ages 3-7 titled Good Pictures Bad Pictures Jr.: A Simple Plan to Protect Young Minds.

Jenson says it was necessary to write a book aimed at such children because they’re getting exposed — and not always of their own volition — to pornography at younger and younger ages.

“It’s just getting worse as far as the exposure of children to this kind of content, and I can’t even imagine really myself when I was that age, I can’t imagine getting exposed to pornography,” she says. “And it’s not the pornography of yesteryear, right? It’s not the pornography of the Playboys of the ’60s and ’70s and ’80s. It’s really much worse, much more degrading.'”

Jenson, the founder and CEO of the anti-porn resource organization Defend Young Minds, also offers an interesting reason why she rebranded the organization from its original name of “Protect Young Minds.”

“You can protect your car by waxing it, right? You can protect your house by putting on a new roof and painting it, which we just did. But that’s not really protecting from an enemy,” she says. “When you defend, you are defending against a known enemy. And so we wanted to step it up because there are known enemies that are trying to pull your kids into porn any way they can.”
