CAMBRIDGE, Mass., February 24, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A new Zogby poll of 1,200 parents shows that 71% of parents do not want sex education programs teaching students that homosexual relationships are as normal and acceptable as loving heterosexual relationships, WorldNetDaily reports.  The study reinforces evidence of serious health risks accompanying homosexuality. A Harvard Medical School study of 4,000 high school students found that “gay-lesbian-bisexual youth report disproportionate risk for a variety of health risk and problem behaviors [including] twice the mean number of risk behaviors as did the overall population.”

The results, published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (1999, vol. 38, pp. 297-304), also show that homosexual practice is associated with “significantly increased health risks [in]mental health, sexual risk-taking, and general health risks” including increased use of cocaine and other drugs; a greater likelihood of tobacco, marijuana and cocaine use before age 13; and “sexual intercourse before 13 years of age, sexual intercourse with four or more partners and sexual contact against one’s will.”  For WorldNetDaily coverage:  https://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=31171   For the Journal article citing medical evidence:  https://ipsapp003.lwwonline.com/content/search/2600/17/18/abstract.htm?Action=view&collection=lww&QueryZip=j%3D2600+and+d%3C%3D03%2F01%2F2003+and+%28%28orientation%29%3Cin%3Ebody%29+AND+DDATE%3C%3D02%2F24%2F2003&SortSpec=Score+desc&ViewTemplate=V1.hts&ResultTemplate=s1.hts&ResultField=11CCCCFF1030&ResultCount=10&VDKVgwKey=%5C%5Cipsnetapp001%5Chome%5Cjournals_protected%5CJAACAP%5CIssues%5C1999-38-3%5Ctexts%5Cft199903000018.html&DocOffset=1&J=2600&I=17&A=18&T=0&U=1&vLoc=S1&hUAIN=0&VPgNum=1   or use the search engine at: https://www.jaacap.com/
