OTTAWA, Mar 30 (Lifesitenews.com) – A Statistics Canada release yesterday revealed that nearly a third of all 30,735 sex offences in Canada in 1997 were committed against children younger that twelve. When one includes the offences against children from 12-18 the proportion jumps to 62%.

Moreover, the study suggests that the police statistics used “probably represent only a small portion of all sexual offences” and that “victimization surveys suggest that as many as 90% of all sexual offences are not reported to the police.”
