LONDON, ON, Mar 6, 2001 ( – The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) is concerned that the Government of Canada may grant Robert Latimer a lesser sentence or executive clemency. In order to combat a petition by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association asking the Government to grant Latimer clemency, EPC has designed a petition to the Government of Canada titled: Protecting the Disabled – The Supreme Court of Canada Latimer Decision.

“If Robert Latimer is granted executive clemency it will send a message to Canadians that killing a disabled person is a lesser crime. We must show our support for the disabled and other vulnerable Canadians now,” said EPC’s Alex Schadenberg.

Petitions are available by email from LifeSite:  [email protected]

If you are unable to be part of the petition campaign, please send letters to the Minister of Justice (Anne McLellan), your Member of Parliament and the National Parole Board. For more information call: 1-877-439-3348
