LONDON, ON, Mar 6, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) is concerned that the Government of Canada may grant Robert Latimer a lesser sentence or executive clemency. In order to combat a petition by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association asking the Government to grant Latimer clemency, EPC has designed a petition to the Government of Canada titled: Protecting the Disabled – The Supreme Court of Canada Latimer Decision.
“If Robert Latimer is granted executive clemency it will send a message to Canadians that killing a disabled person is a lesser crime. We must show our support for the disabled and other vulnerable Canadians now,” said EPC’s Alex Schadenberg.
Petitions are available by email from LifeSite: [email protected]
